I highly recommend checking out the video tutorials by Joe Sweeney for CC3 and DD3, even if you haven't purchased the software yet, to see the software in action and learn the basics:

It is still at it's heart CAD software, so the atypical "Select what you want to do first, then select what you want to do it on" model is still there, but it's not the roadblock it was in the past either.

Learning curve: In CC3, the learning curve is no where near what it used to be when CC2 for Windows first came out over a decade ago. Once again, it was built from the suggestions and wish lists of actual users.

The next big step came in CC3 with the introduction of bitmap artwork and Photoshop-style effects that could be applied to entities in your drawing as more and more CC2 Pro users asked for the ability to make the battle maps that were being published by RPG companies (and could be done in newer mapping programs). CC2 Pro included a new feature called drawing tools that automate a lot of what used to take multiple steps and tools to accomplish (let alone remember) in CC2. There is also a large, knowledgeable user community.ĬC2 had a HUGE learning curve when I first got over a decade ago - it was one of the biggest customer (and former customer) complaints, so Profantasy addressed it. I can't think of another software company in *any* field with better customer service or technical support than Profantasy has provided in all that time. I've been using Profantasy's Campaign Cartographer software for over 12 years.

Like I mentioned, there are lots of free symbols out there already. The prices for CC3 are actually pretty good, the prices dropped from what they used to charge for CC2.īest bet is to get CC3, play around for a bit, then get expansions and symbol packs if you want/need them. The support community is very good and the pro-fantasy site has a nice library of user created maps and art work - although updates to it are sporadic.įor other settings, there are a couple of expansions that look directly to modern and sci-fi settings, both of which I have and would recommend. Once you get used to it, its not bad and the more time, effort and learning you put in the better the results.Īdding your own art is fairly simple and lots of free symbols and art is out there already. This adds a pretty steep learning curve unless you have used CAD programs before. The system it is built on is a traditional CAD system that works backwards i.e select what you want to do, then what to do it to rather than the norm that is the other way round. The interface is not intuitive in the least. I found it to be pretty good at producing a basic dungeon or overland map relatively quickly, however there are some proviso's to that. 75 mm wheels.I've used CC2 and upgraded to CC3 and also have a few of the expansions. NEW CROSSOVER SYSTEM: The shoulder straps automatically lift when used as a trolley.

  • OTHER FEATURES: New total opening "USE TRAVEL".
  • SHOULDER STRAP: Padded and covered in fabric.
  • Thanks to the 75mm wheels, the double bar and the crossover system, this trolley is ideal for those looking for stability but also ecology: each Bump, thanks to its special polyester fabric, contributes to the protection of the environment by recycling 56 500ml PET bottles. The internal space is very large and easy to use thanks to the large access zips to the main compartments: with its 45 liters capacity it offers multiple loading possibilities for both school and travel.

It is a trolley but can be worn like a backpack thanks to the retractable shoulder straps. Trolley Bump Invicta = space and practicality.
